Fringe Bounty Hunters' Guild
On of the most notable non-corporate entities in Anima Radix, the Fringe Bounty Hunters' Guild organizes what is essentially a system-wide volunteer militia and provides information about bounties to the thousands of active hunters, or Ciphers, scattered across space.
Structure
While the earliest form of the guild was little more than a small, passionate group of volunteers from the resort town of Fate Falls on Ganymede looking to protect their family and friends working in the Fringe from pirates, its growth in the years since has necessitated the implementation of a hierarchy in order to efficiently disseminate information about bounties and guide the younger, more naive hunters toward quarry within their skill range.
Most large settlements throughout the Core and Reach and a few settlements with dense populations in the Fringe are home to a guildhall, which is less a formal meeting place and more a place for hunters to check-in, gather bounty information, and submit requests for bounty payouts. Each of these guildhalls house the area's bounty handlers, who handle the administrative aspects of the organization, many of whom are retired bounty hunters themselves.
An area's population of bounty hunters are considered to be part of that area's guild chapter, which is further divided into sects, which are teams of five to ten active hunters usually led by the most experienced among them.
A peculiar aspect of the guild is the shedding of a new hunters' name upon their joining of a sect. Instead, from then until the hunter retires, they are referred to solely by their title: Cipher, whether by other members of the guild or outsiders. To distinguish between individual Ciphers, each hunter is given a unique barcode and a badge indicating their home chapter and sect. This practice dates back to the guild's inception, as many of those early volunteers hid their face and identity in order to protect themselves and their loved ones from potential retaliation by associates or organizations tied to the bounties they bring in.
Public Agenda
Since the beginning, the express purpose of the guild has been to see justice done and protect the citizens of Anima Radix from any and all criminal elements. Though at first this pertained primarily to the people of the Fringe and the Reach, over time it grew to encompass those of the Core as well, should SolSec or the Anima Radix Marines fail to provide that protection, for one reason or another.
