Mifune Corp
The incredibly successful robotics and cybernetics manufacturer founded by genius engineer and Institute for Advancing Civilization graduate, Mifune Shirō that played an important role in the end of the New Frontier War and subsequent creation of the Central Megacorporate Negotiations Directorate.
Though originally only a robotics company, following an incident that led to Shirō's son, Mifune Kazushige losing his leg, Shirō split the company into a second branch, focused on the creation of practical cybernetics, starkly contrasting the high-fashion designs of Daedalus Intelligent Systems' cybernetic prostheses, at a much more affordable price and far easier to maintain.
Structure
Influenced by the company's founder and current chairman, Mifune Shirō, the structure of the company is modeled after Japanese companies from the past, based loosely on what Mifune remembers of his father's work at the Hoshi-Odori Company. As stated, Mifune serves as chairman, having long since left the public eye while still keeping tabs on the company's health and direction through his close relationship with his own son, the president, Kazushige.
Under the president are the various division directors, general managers, team leaders, supervisors, and finally the rest of the staff, including researchers and engineers. This subordinate portion of the company is divided into two main branches: the robotics division and its younger sibling, the consumer cybernetics division.
Public Agenda
In keeping with Chairman Mifune's personal philosophy, the same hopeful ambitions from his youth that led to the company's decision to throw its lot in with the other founding megacorporations of the Central Megacorporate Negotiations Directorate, most employees are encouraged to strive to see the universe and the situations that humanity finds itself in as a chance to cultivate a the evolution of the species, whether that be through the creation of intelligent machines designed to ease the woes of laborers or the proliferation of affordable cybernetic prostheses to soothe those who have sacrificed their physical bodies for the betterment of humanity.
