Central Megacorporate Negotiations Directorate

Distant memories of the corporatocracy that died with the last panopolises of Earth and the subsequent outbreak of the New Frontier War served as the catalyst for our civilization's realization of what seemed to be the inevitable outcome of unfettered corporate power. Ironically, it was the banding together of seven megacorporations—Daedalus Intelligent Systems, Lockhart-Gainsborough Aeronautics, Mifune Corp, Murphy Prodigital, OtomoGen, the Tantalus Group, and Zhang Hangye—that would come to oversee the tight control of powerful corporate interests, including their own as some of the most prominent among these entities, in an ongoing effort to ensure that nothing like the New Frontier War ever happened again. To that end, the Grand Council would see to the fostering of positive relationships among all levels of business while also maintaining a powerful military, efficient public security services, and manage publicity through the Department of Administrative Affairs.

Structure

Supreme responsbility rests in the hands of the Grand Council, who hold the final say on far-reaching decisions and through the Department of Administrative Affairs mandate action of various subordinate authorities. Much of the responsiblity of relaying the Grand Council's decisions falls on the Director of Administrative Affairs and their advisors and other staff, with the Director themself serving as the face and voice of the Council and relying on a constant feed of data through public opinion polls, news sources, crime analyses provided by SolSec, and so on.   Flanking the Department of Administrative Affairs are the legistlative and judicial branches of the government: the Hall of Trustees and Ministry of Arbitration, respectively.   The Hall of Trustees develop laws and manage intercorporate diplomacy throughout all regions of the Anima Radix and possesses its own hierarchy that is beyond the scope of this article.   The Ministry of Arbitration see to the interpretation of the Trustees' laws, mediate megacorporate grievances, and provide solutions to smaller civil matters in the instance that local courts are unable to do so.

Public Agenda

Since before its very inception, the CMND has dedicated itself to the safety and prosperity of our species through the provision of quality healthcare, welfare, and social stability.

Assets

All that is provided for the good of society belongs to the citizenry, though an important distinction must made between the ideas and concepts developed by founding and supporting member megacorporations and the means by which those ideas and concepts are brought into being. This includes the very infrastructure that allow the CMND to operate at full capacity.

History

At its height, the New Frontier War can easily be considered the most devastating conflict we as a species has ever experienced. The CMND, or rather its earliest form, was born out of necessity to save what little stability we, as a species, had achieved following our evacuation of Earth. As it was commonplace, the seven founding megacorporations levied their collective assets in the form of diplomats, military contractors, scientists, technology specialists, and intelligence agencies to cripple the ability of the other organizations that chose to continue participating in the war. It took less than a year for the guerrilla tactics used by these forward-thinking people to bring the conflict to a halt and offer the first and only successful call for peace and civil discourse since the beginning of the war. The changes seemed to take place overnight, but at great cost to everyone involved. Nevertheless, the CMND was born and a new age of prosperity began at the turn of the era.

Religion

As the CMND's focus is solely on the prosperity of our species via progress in technology, healthcare, and financial stability, religion does not play any role whatsoever in government operations and those holding office—whether they be appointed or elected—are discouraged from citing or basing their decisions on their own religious inclinations as they are considered grounds by which an official can be removed from their position.   By the same token, no specific belief system is outlawed and our society as a whole welcomes any and all belief systems that do not inherently cause harm to the prosperity of our people.

Trade & Transport

Though traditional bartering systems flourish in some of the outlying territories, value is measured in Aurumbits, a fully-digital currency backed by trade goods deemed by the CMND to be of "primary value," which changes based on the demands of the member megacorporations' various industries. An Aurumbit's worth is carefully managed by the CMND through the use of mandated resource transfer between megacorporations in an effort to prevent stockpiling and the hoarding of wealth.
