The S-series general maintenance automaton is the outcome of Mifune Shirō's post-graduate robotics research thesis. Heralded as a breakthrough in the application of linear artificial intelligence to robotics, the S-series was the first line of automatons produced at Mifune Corp's factory on Mars, as the company's original main factory was located on Luna and lacked the space to house the tools required to fabricate these incredibly complex machines with any degree of efficiency.

These automatons were instrumental in the CMND's Fringespace expansion in 21 SE. Though the machines were designed to function solely for their intended purpose, Mifune Corp's dedication to keeping their technology as easy to maintain by laypeople—especially considering that many of them would serve in some of the most far-flung edges of civilization, this also means that they were easy to modify by someone with enough technical knowledge.

As such, while there is very little in the way of information about this particular unit, S207, eye-witness accounts over the last few years seem to indicate that the machine has either been modified and/or has developed a fully-functioning personality. Including the will to be recognized as a living thing.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

At full posture, S-series automatons stand 188 centimeters and are designed to be able to easily access even the most narrow crevices in their assigned work zone. The default designs were almost exclusively skeletal units, but job-specific necessities eventually led to protective plating that could be replaced with additional devices and tools or heavier, armored plating in the case of those used in areas prone to conflict.

Apparel & Accessories

S207, likely as a side effect of modifications made to its programming, demonstrates a peculiar inclination for wearing clothes.

Personality Characteristics

Savvies & Ineptitudes

As their purpose would suggest, S-series automatons are exceptionally good at maintenance duties in a variety of industries, from infrastructure to vehicle repair. With access to a full suite of tool modules, a single S-series unit can perform the work of ten laborers without the risk.

Likes & Dislikes

This particular unit is reported to have stated that it actively dislikes performing electrical work, instead opting to be "creative like a human."

Personality Quirks

Equal parts amusing and unnerving: when frustrated, S207 has been known to stare menacingly at the subject of his frustration.

Real-World Meta

Played by Matthew Stegall, the other half of the twins of Jupiter Pilot's rhythm section, S207 is the band's resident drum machine, utilizing his laser-focused practice of rudiments and reverent appreciation of some of the worlds' best drummers to keep his band mates in time to the best of his ability.

Matthew was the first new addition to the band near the start of its hiatus, this old friend of the vocalist and part-time employer of the guitarist for auto body paint and repair decided to dive back into percussion after many long talks with and a formal invitation from the band's two remaining founders. This joining of forces truly revitalized the band in its time of uncertainty and, in time, led to the version that it has become today: firmly devoted to making music, telling stories, and having a good time doing it.
